ASSIGNMENT: Species of Concern
1. Please click HERE to access the online resources that are available to help you with your research. You will need the username and password provided to you in class
in order to access the Virtual Database!
2. Rough work will be due on Wednesday, October 24th in class. Click HERE to access the rough work outline and references page.
3. Action Plan Presentations will take place on Tuesday, October 30th in class. Your research will also be due at this time! Please remember that the Knowledge and
Understanding, as well as Inquiry sections of your research (from stating the At-risk category or location of origin, to identifying the measures being taken to prevent the
decline/increase of your species' population is to be submitted as a newspaper report, documentary, powerpoint, news report video, poster, or drawing with research on
the back, while your Application section (Plan of Action) is to be presented in front of the class as an oral presentation. You DO NOT need to submit a written copy of
the Plan of Action.
4. Each MEMBER of the group will need to submit:
i) The Assessment chart on the back of the assignment page.
ii) Your rough work
Each GROUP will need to submit:
i) One copy of all of your references
ii) Your research (Knowledge and Understanding, and Inquiry) in one of the forms mentioned above

1. Ensure that the terrestrial ecology chart is completed (I will post data from column 1 and 5 when I receive it from Levi).
2. Ensure that the aquatic ecology chart is complete for 10 organisms.

3. Draw two organisms on the insert that you saw in the pond.
4. Complete the Beak's Biotic Index on the last page of your booklet.
**We will be doing the graph (page 2) and labelling the diagrams together on Monday.
